How do I enter the tournament?

You need to send an email to flyffevents@gala-net.com, and include your character name, server, level, and class.The email must contain an entry in the following format:

If an entry is submitted that does not follow the above format, it will not be considered a valid entry.

How do I know if my entry is approved?

We will be posting the lists of the accepted applicants on Friday the 6th. If your name is not on this list, your entry was not accepted. We will have an additional list of players who will be summoned in the instance that a player does not show up for one of their matches. These lists will not be publicly posted.

How many players per server will be allowed to participate in the event?

A maximum of 24 players per class will be allowed to enter, for a total of 192 players per server.

Where will the tournament be held?

The tournament will be held in the Clockworks Arena. Players will be summoned there by the GM team at the beginning of the tournament.

How are the winners determined?

The tournament will be done using a standard bracketed system (please refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:24TeamBracket as an example). As each player wins their respective duels, they will advance to the next round. When each semi-final round concludes, one of the 3 remaining players will automatically be given a bye and advanced to the finals. The remaining 2 players will then duel to determine who will advance to the finals. After the final round is concluded, the winning player will be declared the winner for their class.

What are the dates/times for each server?

The tournament will begin at 10am PST on each server, and will continue until a winner has been found for all 8 classes. The dates are as follows: 3/9 – Clockworks; 3/10 – Demian; 3/11 – Kern; 3/12 – Glaphan; 3/13 – Mia; 3/16 – Mushpoie; 3/17 – Aibatt; 3/18 - Lawolf

What do I get if I win?
The exact prizes will be announced at a later date, but rest assured, the prizes will truly be worthy of the champion they are bestowed upon!

Are the matches going to be fair?

We will do our best to randomize the matches, but in the interest of fairness, we will be double-checking each pairing to try and ensure that each player is pitted against someone of a similar level range. Please note that there is a possibility that you will have to fight a players who may be a higher level than you. If you are uncomfortable with this, do not enter the tournament.

Can I heal myself during my duel?

“Fooding” is not allowed in any circumstances, and doing so will result in an immediate disqualification. The only healing that is allowed are self-heals available to your class (i.e. Assist’s Heal and Prevention)

What happens if I crash or DC during my duel?

If you crash or disconnect during a duel, it will be considered a forfeit, unless proven to be a genuine server issue. While we understand lag and disconnects happen, unfortunately it would not be fair to your opponent should this happen.

What channel will the tournament be held on?

The tournament will be held on channel 2 of each server.

What happens if I’m not logged in when it’s my turn to duel?

Due to time restrictions, if you are not logged in when the GM team attempts to summon you to the CW arena, you will forfeit your place in the duel.

If I have more than one character over level 60, can I enter with 2 or more of them?

Due to the relatively small number of total applicants on each server, you are only allowed to enter the tournament with one character over level 60.

Can I enter with multiple characters if they’re on separate accounts?

As mentioned above, the same situation applies to entering with multiple accounts. Only one account is allowed per player. Should we find out that you enter with multiple accounts, you will be disqualified from the tournament.

Why are only the same classes allowed to fight each other? Why not BP vs Knight, for example?

Again, the decision to only allow same-class duels was done in the interest of fairness.

How will duels be set up for Masters and Heroes?

We will do our best to randomize the matches, but in the interest of fairness, we will be double-checking each pairing to try and ensure that each player is pitted against someone of a similar level range.

Are Premium Shop consumables allowed? i.e. Activition, Refresher Hold, etc

Yes, Premium Shop consumables are allowed, as long as they are not food-related (i.e. Remantis Laccotte, etc)

Can I have my RM friend buff me before my duel?

No, the only buffs each player is allowed upon beginning their duel are any self-buffs they can cast, and any valid Premium Shop consumables.

Are there any prizes for the 1st and 2nd place runner ups?

There will be something awarded to players who make it to the final round for their class. These prizes will be announced at a later date.

Can I request to fight/not fight against someone specific?

Requests for specific matchups will not be allowed.

What happens if I lose? Am I allowed to remain in the arena? Or am required to leave?

If you lose your duel, you will be given a moment to say a brief farewell, at which point you will be disconnected by one of the GMs present.

Why aren’t players under level 60 allowed to enter?

Players who have not achieved their second job will not have the same abilities/stats available to them as people who have. Because we want the matches to be as fair as possible, characters who are not level 60 or higher are not being allowed.

Will there be any restrictions on skills that we are allowed to use?

Players are allowed to use any skill that is available to their class. There will be no restrictions on this.

Will there be any gear restrictions?

No. Part of being a champion is having the best gear in your class. We will not be enforcing any gear restrictions.

Can I participate in the tournament if I am level 60, but have not completed by second job change?

No. If you have not completed your second job change, you will be unable to participate in the tournament. The tournament will be class vs class. For example:

Billposters vs Billposters

Blades vs Blades

Knights vs Knights

etc.

Because of this, if you have not completed your second job change, you will not be able to participate as you do not meet the requirements.

Please note that these rules are subject to change. They will be updated as required. It is your responsibility to review these rules prior to participating in the tournament.

What a joke. Pretty much any self respecting American with a job or who is in school won't be able to be there, all because the GM's are too lazy to maybe work a bit of overtime and find a time that fits both Euro's and Americans.

Sometimes it could be galanet is being cheap and not willing to pay higher than minimum wage or overtime to the GM... However, I still want to know the price of the winning tournament so I can decide whether it’s worth it to go. Last PVP tournament back in v7 was 5k gpots as winning price and this time it could be that champion 7 all stats cloak, but who knows?

All steve need is restat the psy back to full sta and he will win this tourament easy since holies are allowed.

Why don't you restat your elementor back to full sta as well and win this tourament as well? ridicule

they'll prolly release prizes after it. and there are no different class fights. the 2 that get to their class's finals are getting prizes
