True :3 i loved the look when i was LGA and Bsword and had a spare Bsword lying about for arena use.
Btw, some people did claim that sword is 10% faster than axe. This IS true...
However...
Dual Swords are as far as i can tell NOT faster than dual axes.
However...
I can't be 100% sure. I've frapsed and frasped but cant conclude for 100% either way.
Joneleth also took a 0.35 value for dual wield regardless axe or sword.
No one knows the formula for sure NOW.
However....
even if dual swords ARE 10% faster (which from fraps i seriously doubt, max was about 5% variance EITHER way fast or slow) even then that doesnt make up for the atk lost in high str builds.
Furthermore:
In the case of leveling, if you are going about KOing things in 3 to 4 hits, the atk rate cut would make you require MORE hits.
If time in seconds to take a hit = y and no_of_hits = x
It takes xy seconds to kill a mob.
For a hit with axes y = 1
For a hit with swords y = 0.9
A kill with axes would have taken an average of 4 hits when i was full str at asuras
A kill with swords would have easily take my hits taken average to 5
so for swords xy is 4.5
for axes xy is 4
thus axes still result in faster average kills times.
That is purely hypothetical though... IF swords were 10% faster in dual wield.
So far as i can observe they are not. Making axes better in almost every way for a well equipped fully buffed blade.
However there is enough variation in my frapsing and counting to allow for as much as 5 or 6% speed increases to be overlooked.
In the end i thought why am i doing this crap >_> and tested Axe Sword vs Axe Axe and found myself to level faster with Axe Axe :3
Oh btw when you spend hours observing frapsed sword and axe damage and counting the frames between hits you start to notice wierd patterns in hits. The cycle of hits kinda goes slow and fast at various times swords seem to have more extremes of slow and fast parts to the cycle, but the fastest fast parts.
Anyways, nothing wrong with axe sword, cept when you go back to axe axe and see your off hand damage .. you don't wana use a sword again ;x night rawr :3
Also yes for your no GT leveling one Bsword is a must :3 I was so happy when i made one while i was at the mushpoies at 7xM :O... then so pissed off at them being made common as muck by the first green event >_> fkin gala. Keep 120 sets rare dont let you buy them after the pvm siege like in kFlyff but pff no one cared abotu the 120 weapons /fume

Ill experiment when i am next on to see if my theory is true. But i still wont tell anyone anyways that damn jons calc useful tho it maybe has gone and given too much knowledge to everyone and anyone in the game. But there are areas of blades it is inaccurate/presumptuous in.
